About Kathryn

My name is Kathryn and I am a writer, a mother, a grandmother, a crafter, a gardener - I like to think that I am blooming where I was planted, which currently is in a beautiful suburb in Northern, NJ.

My first grandchild was born on Thanksgiving 2013 - a beautiful reason for gratitude and thanksgiving! His name is Tommy - and he is the apple of my eye. He is also an excuse for singing folk songs, bringing out the old wooden toys and board books, and  all sorts of fun adventures!

Happy Homemaking is a place where I can share my experiences in homekeeping - my experience with what has and has not worked at different seasons in my life with house cleaning, cookery, being organized, budgeting, and more. I am a firm believer in passing on what we learn - the best of the old ways combined with the best of the new - and I strive to do this in my own life.

I love caring for my family, for my home, for my friends. I love to experiment and tweak my systems to keep up with the changes in my life as I grow older, as careers change, as children grow up and leave and grandchildren arrive. And I love to share what I am learning!

I also write at Blooming in Suburbia, and  KathrynCBowden.com - feel free to visit there as well!
