Fresh from the farmers market

While I adore my garden, and do fully intend for it to supply us with food, I am realistic enough about its limitations. We prefer to eat seasonally, organically where possible, locally where possible. My small garden could never keep up!

And so I also adore our local farmers market, which keeps me supplied with all the lovely fresh fruit and veg I could want. The eggs, cheeses, honey and fish are simply a bonus!

Today I am working in the office, and so a simple dinner is planned: grilled steak (which is currently marinating), grilled eggplant and zucchini and red peppers, plus a salad using greens from our garden and some farm tomatoes. The leftover grilled veggies make for healthy and delicious sandwiches during the work week on my freshly baked bread!
