A Stitch in Time...

I have been playing with yarn and string on and off for most of my life. My great-grandmother tried to teach me knitting as a child (not a success - her needles were tiny and my tension was too tight). My mom bought me a knitting machine that made tubes (I made doll dresses) and needlework kits (I recall making white french knot spots on red mushrooms, and a lot of earth-toned critters). An aunt taught me to finger crochet, and years later I taught myself to crochet with an actual hook :)

So yarn and floss, woolens and cottons and silks, linen and aida cloth and stamped canvas are all familiar friends. And I seem to have unfinished projects in all forms! One unfinished project - my white whale so to speak - is this Bucilla petit point pillow kit "Fruit Fantasy". Its been hanging around for about a decade now... I pick it up and work on it for a few hours, then put it aside again. I am not certain why - but its been hard to get into a groove with this piece! And of course now that I am committed to completing a series of cross stitch patterns over the next 2 weeks, I am feeling called to work on it!

Are there any craft projects you can't seem to finish?
