It always surprises me how utterly quiet and desolate some city avenues become on a Sunday morning: no bustle of workers rushing to the office, no schreeching taxis, no tourists. Very refreshing after a workweek of plowing thru mobs of both!

Take a Walk on the Quiet Side!
Today is World Cup Finals! And while many will be watching an exciting and highly anticipated match in the company of friends, I will be tucked into my office fact-checking stats for a client's World Cup souvenir magazine. So to prepare for what promises to be 20-odd hours of eyestraining "fun", I had a long, long walk in the sunshine.

Your walk sounds refreshing. I thought the same thing one morning when we were visiting Washington DC. It was very early one Fall morning on the Mall. I took a walk to the Vietnam Memorial and found no one there. It was the most awe inspiring moment for me to stand alone in the quiet. It was amazing. I've not experienced anything like that since. Wishing you well! Cathy
